After chapter 1-5 of flies, what do the think the author is saying about our species?

Is there hope for us?

Can we trust people to be good?

In my personal, professional opinion, the author is trying to say that our species is a violent race, but in this story only kids are involved and this doesn’t prove much. Our species is violent usually because of skin color and beliefs, if everyone was the same and everyone believed in the same things; there would not be any problems, except for small offences maybe like stealing. There is hope for our species. As you can see how long he have been alive. We have colonized countries cities and towns. We may be violent but we are still smart, and that’s all we need.

We can trust certain people in this world. But not all people, like the criminally insane, are people we cannot trust, and so are terrorists. We also can’t trust poor people; because of them being poor they will steal what you got if you give them a chance. A lot of the Islamic people in Bagdad are untrustworthy, and well as the Russians.
